I Love...

Do you ever have those days where you have a million and one things to do, but you don’t feel like doing anything? Well, I feel like I’ve had about two weeks of those days now.

Although I have been feeling like I just want to drop everything and quit, I know I’m way too close to the end to stop now. So, I’ve been trudging through it all, like I trooper, if I do say so myself. All of the trudging paid off today when I completed the last paper of the semester. Great success!

I will admit that its completion wasn’t without a little complaining. The reasoning behind my frustration and lack of motivation was the simple fact that I enjoy being home, and hate ruining it with stupid homework. Home is where my heart is. It’s just awesome and being there (here?) makes me realize how much I love:

Waking up to fresh coffee and Mama ready to give me a good morning hug.
She refused to turn around for this picture.
Having a leisurely breakfast at the dining room table alongside one of my best friends.
Coffee, garlic and onion bagel, and a pear sprinkled with cinnamon
Lovely faces
Observing the wildlife vandalizing our property as I enjoy my java.
Gigantic, delinquent woodpecker.
The fact that no one cares if I choose to wear my robe until 4 PM.

Having lunch outside by the pool… in my jammies.
Lunch #2: Baked potato topped with plain yogurt and bunches of sweet peppers
Having tons of delicious foods in the house in case the first lunch I make is unacceptable.
Lunch #1: sardine salad. The sardines smelled and tasted weird (Or weirder than usual, as Mons would say). Although not expired, I didn't want to take a chance.
Having a Vitamix to make the best smoothies ever.
Green peanut butter vanilla smoothie
Sharing dinner with my familia.
Steamed broccoli and turnips and quinoa sauteed with salsa.
And receiving surprise packages from the love of my life, who by the way, is the world's best gift-giver. Just sayin'. (Girls, it's ok to be jealous.)
Now, it’s time for me to finish gathering my belongings to leave my wonderful home to go to my second home—Biff’s app. I’m sure tales from tomorrow will be epic. I’m excited. Get pumped.

Homebody Syndrome

Friday night did not go quite as planned. By that, I mean, we didn’t go out and dance the night away like we usually do. If you ask my Biff, it sucked, but I would have to disagree. I acknowledge my lack on energy and desire to do anything fun, but after an art show (which I really did enjoy)...

Brandy and her performance art.
Abbey's family history and grandmother's portrait written on eggs. Incredible.

Melted records used to make a life-size living room. Pretty much the most awesome thing I've ever seen.

Being classy and drinking wine out of a plastic cup.
Veggie goodness with a little naughty on the side.
More naughtiness.
...and a mandatory Leadership Dinner that lasted an hour and a half longer than it was supposed to...

I hate peppy, overly excited nonsense.
This is mid-"Peanut Butter Jelly" song.
I discovered these beauties on the tables. I proceeded to steal two boxes...
...do you blame me for not wanting to be sociable? By 11 PM, I found myself playing Scrabble on my iPod in bed.

Nine hours of sleep under my belt, and I was ready to break a sweat. I spent 45 minutes on a ridiculous treadmill incline and got my booty burning. I headed back to Biff’s app to get my stuff together and head back home. On my journey, I devoured the biggest apple I’ve ever seen. I actually bought it just because I’ve never seen a bigger one…

I guarantee this apple weighed a quarter of a pound.
As soon as I got home, I hit up the fridge and whipped up this delectable meal. I do understand that it doesn’t look as wonderful as it actually was.
Chicken salad with turnips and carrots.
Afterward, I chatted with my lovey, laid out with my mommy, had a yummy snack, and washed my car.
Yoplait Light Boston Cream Pie. To. Die. For. We won't discuss the sugar and fake sugar content.
Freshly tanned, Mama and I made a delicious dinner.
Hamburger, sauerkraut, and roasted beets, squash, Brussels sprouts, onions, and peppers. ,
I followed it up with a little treat and a movie with the fam.
Spicy Maya dark chocolate and an adorable small cow in the background.
Being at home makes me more happy than anything, and makes me realize what a homebody I am. And I love it.

Home Away From Home

For those of you who are gluten-intolerant, you know that staying anywhere other than your own home requires a significant amount of planning. Every Thursday, I spend the night at Biff’s app, and every Thursday, there is a major production. It all starts Wednesday night…

I have to pack my food, of course. I have to pack my lunch...
Tuirkey, cucumber, tomato, and feta salad. Not pictured: apple.

snacks...
PureFit Almond Crunch

and dinner
Quinoa with salsa and corn. Quick, easy, delish.
for the Thursday, as well as breakfast and lunch for the Friday. Along with my food, I also have to pack my clothes. I am not one of those girls who ponders her clothing choices every morning. I usually think about it before hand (so as not to waste time), look in the closet, and grab my outfit. After countless night’s spent away from home, I have realized that for some reason, this does not seem to work when I pack. I pick an outfit, probably that I have worn before, throw it in my bag, and off I go. The next day, I put on the outfit, and it has morphed into some ugly collection of mediocre (at best) garments. “What the Hades has happened to my clothes,” I ask myself. I may even look to see if the make-outfit-look-stupid gremlin has invaded my bag. So, to avoid any incidents like these, I always pack more than one outfit.

Luckily, Biff doesn’t mind that I practically move in every time I come to visit. In fact, the app has become my home away from home.
Pile of stuff in the middle of Biff's newly cleaned room.

My shelf in the pantry.

My shelf in the shower...

My side of the bed (the wall side).

She even lets me cook my own dinner!
Thanks to Biff not minding that I totally invade her space, I always have a blasty and feel totally comfortable in the app. All that’s left to do is to have some fun.

What's your home away from home? Do you enjoy spending the night away?
