Just Not My Day

Tuesday was a bad day for me. Bad day= mediocre post. I woke up in the morning with a sore throat. Not a sick sore throat, an allergy one. You know what I’m talking about. This annoyance was accompanied by sneezing, runny/stuff nose (I am still not sure how this is possible), and sinus pressure. I am convinced that there was covert attack by allergy gremlins in the night, but, my mom assures me that this is not the case…

So I decided to conduct an investigation into my problem.

But first, I headed for the tea in hopes of keeping my drainage on the low. I had Goldenseal Echinacea tea from Life Long Teas. Honestly, it tastes horrible, but it’s good for me.

The investigation commenced and I set about thinking about what could have caused this quandary. I found 3 possible things to blame: my body’s rejection of Monday night’s dreadful meal, rain stirring up the allergens, or the new Glade plug-ins my mom just purchased. Every time I walk by the air fresheners, a sneezing fit takes over. And my sneezes are no laughing matter…. I was miserable.

For comfort, I turned to food.
Everything bagel with cream cheese.

After I ate my breakfast, I had a flash emotional breakdown. I won’t go into specifics, but I was crying and hyperventilating and then it was over in a few seconds. I think it was partly due to my not feeling well. Or I am going crazy. Oh, to be a woman. I popped some Stress Shield and tried to forget about it.

I was in need of still more comfort so I went to Target for some retail therapy.

When I returned, I was hungry.
Apples, almonds, and cranberries.
Boring and small, but totally satisfying. Then I took a nap. Sleeping always makes me feel better.

I woke up and had a snack and realized that my days revolve around food. I’m ok with that.
Chex. Right out of the measuring cup. Empty tea cup and tissues.
To get myself out of the slump, I went to work out. I took Lucy for a bike ride. Nothing unusual. But while meandering up the road, the dog decided to take a pit stop, yanking my bike to the side and catapulting me through the air. I guess, when you gotta go, you gotta go… Stupid jerk dog. Obviously, it was just not my day.

My no-cook dinner was not spectacular either… And the avocado sucked.
Crappy avocado. Cottage cheese with chickpeas, cumin and chili powder. Gluten-free cracks
Luckily, the Christmas Tree Lighting at Rockefeller Center was a good end to my day. It was beautiful. The only thing I need now is some chocolate. That would make everything right again. Off to unplug the plug-ins…
